It is easy to feel lost knowing which places are dog-friendly in the Greater Lafayette area. I run through some of my favorite places to hang out with my friends or family and dogs for you. Take an adventure with your pup this week.
Where to go:
West Lafayette Farmer’s Market:
It is dog-friendly. Lots of families bring their pups with them to the farmer's market. It can be good exposure to different sights and sounds. It can be pretty busy at times. There is a selection of different vendors. Sometimes there are even firetrucks for the kids to check out. A must-see if you like fresh air and fresh veggies and fruit. RunsMarch-October.
People’s Brewing:

One of my favorite places to go with my dogs. They have a great outdoor seating area, even in the winter. The summer patio is amazing. The picnic tables have plenty of room under them for your dogs to hang out. The food selection is great, they even have vegan and vegetarian options! Just bring a water bowl with you.
Thieme and Wagner:
They hold a couple of events each year. They have a Puptober fest each fall, and this year they have a Halloween costume contest! During fresh air eats, they even put astroturf under the tables which my dogs love. Great beer options and the legacy of the brewery dates back to 1863.

Digby’s:
Well known for their patio music and scenic views of the courthouse, Digby’s is a great choice for an outing with your friends and dog. The patio is large, especially for downtown. Their cheese bricks are a must-try on the menu. They even bring out water bowls for the pups!

Joann’s:
No kidding, yes, Joann’s is pet-friendly. Very few people ever bring their dogs in there, though. There are plenty of isles to wander down and work on those leash skills and recalls. Most of the time it is pretty quiet and the smells are not as abundant or distracting to dogs as the smells at pet stores or home improvement places. This is a great place to start practicing outings with your dog.
Purdue University Campus:
Purdue campus is a great and distraction-filled environment to take your dog. I love all of the different areas you can walk. You can also expose your dog to a lot of noises they may not hear otherwise (buses, robot food delivery machines, fountains, and don’t forget the squirrels).
Downtown Lafayette:
A bit calmer but still a good place to add a challenge for you and your dog. The traffic isn't typically super busy. You can park and wander around for a while window shopping. There are a few dog-friendly restaurants. During the warmer months, the city of Lafayette holds Fresh Air Eats. It is an event geared toward getting people downtown and checking out the restaurants in a relaxed manner. They block the roads off and the restaurants put tables outside. It is a great place to take your dog for some quality training time.

Black Sparrow Patio:
Over the summer black sparrow added a patio option. It is a great place to grab some drinks with friends after work or a Sunday brunch. The atmosphere is super chill and relaxing and the servers are always helpful in selecting menu options. It is just a neat place in general. The patio is large enough for several friends and pups to hang out. Highly suggest.
