Stage 1: Excitement
OH.MY.GOODNESS
You have finally decided to get a puppy after years of wanting one. The search is on for the perfect puppy to add to your family. You start thinking about names, this puppy has to have an amazing name after all!
Stage 2: Overwhelmed
Wait, do you go with a breeder, a rescue, a shelter, or a family friend that had a random litter of puppies?!
What breed of dog is a good choice for you? You start to question how active you are. Do you have the time for a higher energy breed. What dogs are higher energy breed, anyway?
Uh, should we think about pet insurance.
You start to feel like there are too many choices and decisions to make and not enough time or information.
Stage 3: Decision time
Okay, you have decided from pleothrea of puppy choices. You were you are getting your puppy from.
You feel accomplished, because dang, that was hard to choose...
Stage 4: Joy
You picked up your puppy and you cannot even handle all of their cuteness. You just want to snuggle them and love on them all of the time. You are in love with this teeny tiny puppy dog!
Stage 5: Tired
There doesn't seem to be enough coffee in the mornings. That sweet bundle of puppy needs to go out to pee SO much at night. Potty training puppy is not easy!
Your puppy only sleeps for a couple of hours at a time and you are worn out.
Stage 6: Pincushion
Omg, this puppy chews on everything.
Socks, shoes, table legs, arms, fingers, toes, ankles... you get the idea.
How a puppy chew this much?! They are small teeny tiny adorable fluff butts.
You look at that sleeping puppy and wonder how they can wreak so much havoc!
Stage 7: Optimism
Puppy is sleeping better. You are only waking up every once in a while. This puppy thing isn't so hard.
The puppy isn't chewing on everything, thank goodness you found their favorite toys and teething chews!

Puppy is learning the routine, eat, pee, poop, play, sleep.
You feel a bit like a super hero. And you should. Puppies are hard work and you are rocking it!
